In the press release, Samsung revealed three principles under which it plans to get rid off all Galaxy Note 7 units. The first option in the company’s mind is to refurbish Galaxy Note 7 and re-sell or rental them in selected markets. But it has not mentioned in what markets it will be selling these units and for what price.

Samsung said,

REGARDING THE GALAXY NOTE 7 DEVICES AS REFURBISHED PHONES OR RENTAL PHONES, APPLICABILITY IS DEPENDENT UPON CONSULTATIONS WITH REGULATORY AUTHORITIES AND CARRIERS AS WELL AS DUE CONSIDERATION OF LOCAL DEMAND. THE MARKETS AND RELEASE DATES WILL BE DETERMINED ACCORDINGLY.

Other than this, Samsung is also considering the option of recycling Galaxy Note 7 units. It will basically be divided into two major parts. The first part will comprise of component detachments like camera modules and semiconductors. These components will be used for sample testing purposes.

Finally, it will be extracting precious metals like gold, silver, nickel, and copper with the help of eco-friendly companies. You can click the source link below to read the full press release.
