Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana will hit the screens on 7th of April 2017, but it has become a victim to several controversies, even before the release. Earlier, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was replaced in the film because Pakistani artistes were banned. Then, Akshara Haasan hit the headlines for not attending the music launch of the movie; now, one more controversy has been added to the list and it has a religious angle to it.

Today, a mob of Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists protested outside TP Aggarwal’s (Producer) office in Andheri and complained that the movie has disrespected the Hindu religion.

Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana shows a 9 month pregnant woman getting married, and according to those activists, it is completely against Hindu rituals. Now, the workers want the scene to be removed and apart from that, they have also demanded that the film should first be shown to them. They put up banners outside the office and created a scene. How justified it is to link religious sentiments to movies, which are made purely for entertainment purpose?

These religious groups need a reason to spark such controversies; one fault and they blast. They fail to understand that movies are completely fictional and are not made with the purpose of hurting sentiments.

On the other hand, the producer stated that many people have a tendency of being offended with small things. He says,

“Which world are we living in where we say a pregnant lady cannot get married? We are releasing the film on April 7 come what may since the Censor Board has given us a go ahead and we have got a U/A certificate without a single cut. So I see no reason why we should be scared. I shall meet the workers and address the issue.”

Hope this issue gets sorted out soon; it is very wrong to take things in a negative light always. Instead of creating controversies, the activists must take things lightly and consider the “Entertainment” element in the movie.

Religious aspects spoil all the fun; we are sure you’ll agree. What are your views on this? Share in our comments section below.
